Is There Room For Change..... LITERALLY
Whats up mi fellow bloggers and readers ?
An interesting topic was raised to me in a commment from a previous post, i dont know if anyone has heard but Mark Fast. The owner and designer of Mark Fast the brand, shocked the fashion world this week when he used three size 14 models in his Spring/Summer 2010 Collection runway show during the highly acclaimed London Fashion Week.
This gives us room for debate. Is there room for change ?
There are people who may agree curvier models are needed in fashion runway shows and there are people who may disagree to this. But lets give this some thought, models are normally ...what a size 4 give or take and the majority of models are thin and this leaves no room for consumers to fully see how the item would fit a curvy woman or voluptuous this also puts pressure on these types of women to fall into pressure to lose weight when arguebly most curvy women are fine the way they are. On the other hand you may argue back that clothes generally look more appealing in a small size.... and buyers have a tendency to buy more of a collection if seen in a small size rather than a big size, which is the same for shoes. And furthermore women who fall into pressures like this are'nt cut out for the industry.

Because it is true that there should be curvier models on the catwalk, but also tradition should be maintained and use very slim models.
And from what i've seen on google.com size 14 isn't too big and gives us space for innovation within the fashion industry.

FYI - In no way am i saying there is anything wrong with size 4 model when i use words like thin or size 14, this is just food for thought up for debate.

Underground Tube Transforms Into A Catwalk
Make-Up students from The London College Of Fashion, worked on the world's first fashion show on a moving undergound train.
This event was in conjuction with London High Street Fashion Week, where models strutted their stuff down Oxford Street and then continued down to Tottenham Court Road. Then instead of just swiping their Oyster Cards/Train Tickets and sitting down quietly on the train, the models travelled in true diva style by turning the underground train cabin into their own catwalk and having the world's first fashion show on a moving underground train.
The show started at 10am on the 7th September, and was part of a series of suprise 'pop up' fashion shows to promote the new autumn clothing ranges by Selfridges, House of Fraser, Debenhams, Next, River Island, Marks & Spencer and Uniqlo and John Lewis.

Thoughts From My World
Whats up fellow bloggers and people passing by......
Erm.... what i have i got to blog about today, Nothing much you kno. Its been quite boring on this end, nothing much to really comment about.
One thing i must say i need to talk about is the Burberry Prorsum Womenswear Spring Summer 2010. Burberry continue to stay innovative by offering fashion lovers from across the globe a personal seat at the catwalk by watching the live stream via their computer. This was a very good way for us to be more involved in events like this (Other brands take NOTE). Nowww onto the collection, i must say..... i like burberru but this collection has given me a lust for some of the clothes in the collection, lets just say if i was a woman i would BLOW ALOT OF MONEY ON THE WHOLE COLLECTION loool. They briefly showed some menswear but the event was taken by the women.............
I loved the colour pastels, that all stayed within a certain theme.
The collection consisted of clothes with draping and ruched dresses with the burberry patterned handbags.... and there were obviously alot of trenchcoats in a variety of shades and a metallic colour also was added in this collection..... furthermore there were sequined dresses and clutch bags, there wasnt much to not love.
I cant wait to post the full collection when i get pics i defo will so stay posted y'all.

Dr. Martens 1460 TecTuff Express Sping/Summer 2010 Preview
So Dr. Martens iconic 8-eye boot will be turning 50 next year, but with slight tweaks it looks like a fresh, new product.
For Spring/Summer 2010, the brand will release a series of 1460 boots in school colours with white soles. The upper material may look like canvas, but is actually TecTuff Express leather, so you can expect durability and water-resistant properties.
Details on the boot include contrast triple-stitching, flat white laces, silver eyelets, and a white heel loop with black “Air Wair with Bouncing Soles” slogan. Also they boots come in seven colours: ecru, yellow, red, purple, blue, green and black.

London Fashion Week Day One
London Fashion Week starts today and what a day it has been, So i went college blah blah blah..... then i went oxford street (west end). First, i thought let me go topshop/topman to see the highlights, and then i found out the 2nd menswear floor was open. And as soon as i got upstairs i fell in love with a trenchcoat with faux fur on the collar. But it was £120, Ouch.... I had the money but didnt wanna spend it. Took me a little while to comtemplate it and yupp i bought it. Here are some pics.............

So after i purchased it, During london fashion week topman were giving out tickets once you enter the store, and if you have a lucky ticket you can claim discounts etc. and i won £10 off my next purchase and a free t-shirt whoooo ! My day was going gr8 so then i decided to purchase some Levi jeans and some skinny jeans.
I also found there is an event called London Fashion Weekend associated with LFW, where i can pre-book a seat in one of the catwalks, major discounts on A/W collections and a chance to hear a world known journalist talk at a conference. Check it out if your in London during the week, these are the times i wish i was famous so i can get invited to the private catwalks during the week.
Ahhh well in a few years i will so no need to worry.

Leave Your Deck Shoes And Grab Your Boots ................ Yes, They're BACK !
Boots are definately making a comeback this winter, as global warming continues and winter seasons get more cold and breezy. I think they are just in time, and its not only Surface 2 Air that have released boots in thir A/W line. Timberland have brought back the old school 8-inch boot, no idea on when they will be released but as soon as i have info i will keep you post. So make sure u FOLLOW. Back to the subject lol, if you aint rockin boots this winter you may aswell stay home......
*EDIT - I found out out the 8 inch timberlands are already available but in a NY store, if anyone knows how i can get em in LONDON. That would be much appreciated.........

Best Dressed - Cassie - MTV VMAs 2009
Cassie just keeps making that haircut look more fashionable as she rocks the red carpet with this attire. It all consisted of a Blumarine dress, Lisa Levine necklaces, Jacqueline Cohen earrings worth $3,500, and a woven-leather clutch purse, bangle bracelets and $800 heels, all by Bottega Veneta. Would you believe me if i told you, she had no idea what she was going to wear 5 hours before the show ? Well, Yup she didnt know what to wear but thank god for her good fashion sense......
